Etruscan designs inspire the design of this 14k yellow gold crossover bracelet. The discovery of several Etruscan tombs in the 1860s created a craze for neo-Etruscan fashion, and therefore Etruscan influences can be found in lots of Victorian jewels.

The bangle has a buttery yellow colour, similar to the high-karat gold jewels created by the Etruscans, which was achieved with a technique known as 'blooming'. Bloomed gold has received a chemical process that removes a minute layer of the gold alloy at the top, creating an alloy-free, thin layer of soft, pure gold on the surface.

The bangle opens and closes with a box clasp, which is still working securely. The bracelet is also fitted with a safety chain, to prevent it from slipping off unnoticed.

Size: The inner diameter is 52 mm x 60 mm. Its circumference is 18 cm. The bangle is 18 mm wide at the front and tapers down at the back to 3.5 mm.

Weight: 7.25 grams.

Material: Hallmarked with Dutch hallmarks for 14k gold, used between 1853 and 1905.

Age: 19th Century, also known as the Victorian era, circa 1860s.

Condition: In good antique condition with only minor signs of wear, consistent with age.

Please note that the antique box is for display purposes only.
