The French adventure comedy combined the plot of Asterix the Gladiator and Asterix the Legionary, two comics from 1969 and 1970, and followed Asterix and Obelix as they enlisted in the Julius Caesar's army to rescue their friends Panacea and Tragicomix, who were taken against their will. The drawing is created in graphite pencil with touches of colored pencil and enhanced with felt-tip pen. The animation drawing is rendered on roughly 17'' x 12'' 3-peghole animation paper and were created by animator, story artist, director, and Stardust Pictures founder Dino Athanassiou.
